Terms of Service

Version: pre-launch · Last updated 2026-05-12

These Terms govern your access to and use of the ShelfBase API, dashboard, and related services (the “Service”) operated from the Netherlands. By creating an account or calling the API you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. Account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your API keys. Notify us immediately if a key is lost or compromised.

2. Acceptable use

  • Do not resell raw response payloads as a competing product database.
  • Do not attempt to scrape, brute-force, or evade rate limits or quotas.
  • Do not use the Service for unlawful, deceptive, or infringing purposes.
  • Cache responses reasonably; respect freshness signals where provided.

3. Plans and payment

The Service is offered on Free, Starter, Growth, and Scale plans with monthly request quotas. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are listed on the pricing section of our site and may be adjusted with 30 days' notice. EU VAT is applied where required.

4. Data and accuracy

Product data is normalized from public retailer sources and supplementary inputs. We strive for accuracy but provide the Service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. You are responsible for verifying any data before relying on it for safety, medical, dietary, or regulatory decisions.

5. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, abusive usage patterns, non-payment, or legal requirement. You may cancel at any time from the dashboard.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect.
